Tonight the Jazz take on the Pacer in Indiana. It is a home coming for Gordon Hayward, where he will be tested early and often by the Pacers Danny Granger and Paul George. Indiana is a solid team, while we were still trying to figure out who we are.

Go Jazz! Line is Pacers by 9. It'd be a pretty huge win.
JazzHype - February 7, 2012
If we don't play like we did yesterday I think we'll be set
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
if we don't play like we did yesterday
ever again, i think i’ll be happy
gubihero - February 7, 2012
i think this will be fun
does hayward get the love again this year?
gubihero - February 7, 2012
definitely.
moni - February 7, 2012
Please don't play like yesterday!
Bebop - February 7, 2012
Whoo hoo!
Screw you traffic, despite your best efforts I still made it home from work in time!
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Ugh, I'm stuck at work.
Keep me updated… GameChannel only shows me so much.
JazzHype - February 7, 2012
For sure
BC7 - February 7, 2012
so the refs likely won't be kind?
one guy with bad record, two other rooks?
moni - February 7, 2012
Correct...
One is a D-League fill in, the other just hasn’t had the Jazz since Ty took over. The ref we have the bad record with (Stafford) seems to like road times though.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Game in my home state!
Still watching from home though :(
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
all the better to game thread with, my dear.

How did that happen?
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Heh, actually grew up in Bulls territory, but always disliked Jordan...so Jazz it was

These two teams have a rep for being the whitest teams in the league
All there is is Hayward

In my non-racist voice I'd like point out how dark Collison is.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Also in my non-racist voice
Ty Corbin wins that contest every time.
moni - February 7, 2012
Yes
BC7 - February 7, 2012
agreed
Evans Almighty - February 7, 2012
lets hope that last night embarrassed the jazz enough
to help them tonight
Evans Almighty - February 7, 2012
Not much commenting tonight...early time must be confusing folks
Jazz look way better than last night right off the bat
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
For me, since we aren't playing terrible,
I’m watching the game more. Last night I was barely paying attention, lol

Hard getting used to these early games. Hope the Jazz are more ready than I am.

way to go jazz
keep this energy this is what you should have done yesterday
Evans Almighty - February 7, 2012
Jefferson may be great on offense
But he is just getting wrecked by Hibbert
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
Harris is getting into the lane tonight...
Too bad Al can’t catch.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
It just feels right to have Indy's bldg be a "fieldhouse"
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Hayward is getting it done in his homecoming
These Indiana play callers love him. Gordon please never leave us for Indiana…
G Note - February 7, 2012
They also seem to love Harris
Devin, if you want to leave for Indiana, it’s your choice.
allen aoki - February 7, 2012
Good things happen when the Jazz get it inside
Not so much anywhere else.
allen aoki - February 7, 2012
When Raja is your best 3 point shooter, it's really the only option
I’d love for the Jazz to try and get pure shooter Morrow from New Jersey
G Note - February 7, 2012
Sounds like a lot of long jumpers... are they good shots?
JazzHype - February 7, 2012
I'm at a loss for words why Howard gets so many minutes

Maybe he got out of shape & Ty's trying to work him back into shape.
JazzHype - February 7, 2012

He really wanted it this year. Really sad if he misses out on that dream :(
G Note - February 7, 2012

He seems like the type who’ll give it another shot.
Borgs - February 7, 2012
I dunno... achilles tears are really bad. Extremely painful and if you're already old, it just doesn't get right again, really.
JazzHype - February 7, 2012
True
… and he hasn’t the advantage of being a 6-11, already-plodding jumpshooter, but he’s done enough for me to not count him out.

I hate the Jazz playing from behind so often.

BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
Our young dudes + Earl are killing it. Howard is killing us.
I like him driving, not shooting. I wish Hayward got a chance to play with the other kids.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Me too man
Me too.

3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I was on the Howard hype train earlier this season, but that train has long since derailed.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
I wish Burks would get a chance period. I agree that howard is killing us.
No reason to have him over Burks at this point.
Bebop - February 7, 2012
How about Watson, Burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter
Anyone have access to see how long that team has been on the floor together this year?
jrclone - February 7, 2012
I think we've seen it once this season
Bebop - February 7, 2012
when I thought we were only going to go 20-46 this year, that was the team I hoped to see
Josh Howard really throws out the rotations for the young guys, and unless he brings something really special he’s holding back the team development.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Time for driving... hope the score's better when I get home.

Borgs - February 7, 2012
Watson is not looking so hot.
I have a feeling he’s hitting a wall, too many high energy minutes.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
Probably...
… but that’s what happens when a c-level player is the only reliable guard
Borgs - February 7, 2012
Jazz should make a run for Sessions

DWest - February 7, 2012
nope, he's not with the team
moni - February 7, 2012
He is not allowed in Indiana
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
sorry for double post
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
I like Hibbert's game a lot.
Like an old school center.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
It's not that complicated
When Kanter and Favors were on, we cut down the lead and stopped them scoring inside
Bring back Al and Hibbert starts getting whatever he wants again.
I don’t know why Ty persists in playing Al so many minutes during off games. We have a lot of offensive options, but not many defensive.
Ergh, if all season is going to be like this (best performers on the bench) it’s going to be a frustrating one.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Agree
It was Favors and Kanter that got us back in the Lakers game
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
I just wish he'd mix up the big rotation, not always play the same two together.
Kanter with Millsap and Favors with Jefferson. That way when Favors and Kanter aren’t on the floor, the middle doesn’t become so soft.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
THIS.
DWest - February 7, 2012
Al's ankle might be a bit sore....
… but he’s been the same defensive sieve his whole career. Frankly, I think Corbin’s preseason inclination was right, in that Paul can’t share the court with Al purely for defensive reasons. Not many can, effectively, mind you.
Borgs - February 7, 2012
The fact that we havent seen burks makes me so angry
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
Me too
especially when we’re losing too. No reason not to play him.
Bebop - February 7, 2012
Did Matt just call Indy the "Patriots"?
BC7 - February 7, 2012
So...
If Jeremy Lin and Darren Collison are eating our lunch like this, what is Westbrook going to do to us on Friday? shudders
DWest - February 7, 2012
Be injured, hopefully
We are pretty good at playing teams missing their stars (Knicks excluded)
G Note - February 7, 2012
We shouldn't even wonder about Westbrook.
We should be pondering what their backup PG is going to do to us.
moni - February 7, 2012
causeTy Corbin retire
and then we trade Millsap for a stick of gum.

BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
I read somewhere that FT % are down across the league
anyone know why or is just an anomaly
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
it's been trending downward for years in younger players
obvious answer is that kids aren’t practising them as much anymore, but who knows
G Note - February 7, 2012
Realistically speaking, are there any options to upgrade our PG situation this year?
Without a significant upgrade, I have a feeling we’re looking at sub .500 basketball for the rest of the year.
I love this Jazz team and I would love it even more with a decent PG
jrclone - February 7, 2012
I think it'd be an upgrade just to start Tinsley
moni - February 7, 2012
We've got okc and grizz nxt games.
4 straight losses p0ssible if we lose t0night
utahjazz-philippines - February 7, 2012 via mobile

hope not
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
I think we can take the Grizz
we should punish them down low
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Hayward is really playing well.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Agreed
A lot won’t show up in the box score, such as that sweet bounce pass to Al a few plays ago (that Al missed…)
I genuinely think Hayward is a top 5 player on this team, and he’s only in his 2nd year.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Definitely
He has his up and down nights, but he’s a part of the core for the future.
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012

moni - February 7, 2012
Do we still have timeouts?
Let’s go ahead and use one.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
adios game
jrclone - February 7, 2012
Losing by double digits, not even looking like having a chance of winning
Bring in the bench bigs. Seriously Coach Ty. Last night we had to watch Al play 30+ mins and be a defensive sieve, at least tonight change things up.
A loss with youth is better than a loss with the wash ups.
G Note - February 7, 2012
I wish he would read this and understand this is what Jazz fans really want.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
It genuinely breaks my heart as a fan
G Note - February 7, 2012
Perhaps he's trying to pad Milsap and Al's stats
to make them more viable for all star game
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
The way they've been playing the past week, I'm not sure they deserve a spot.
jrclone - February 7, 2012
He won't
He’ll trot out the slow plodding lineup and Al will score some, Harris will shoot some FT’s, Burks will fall asleep and Evans will draw until the game is over. We wouldn’t want any energy.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Please take the starters out, minus hayward

G Note - February 7, 2012
Does anyone here think Indy or Philly are Legit Contenders for
East Conference or do you guys think its Miami or chicago’s to lose
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Miami and Chicago are better...
but Indy and Philly are legit. Would scare me if we were in the East.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
It's definitely Heat/Bulls to lose
But other teams have a chance…stamina will matter more than anything in the playoffs in this weird year
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
Yeah I have a feeling Indy or Philly can make a weird run
like the Knicks did in the last lockout
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Hayward help D on Hibbert, LOVE IT
Al was getting backed down like crazy (notice that Ty? Kanter might help in there) and Hayward saved the shot.
OG has really come to play tonight

Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
I heart Hayward
He’s starting to keep it together for a stretch here, finally some consistency. If he can stay consistent he’s like an AK who traded some athleticism and length for some more ball handling and playmaking ability…money
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
3rd quarter comeback, followed by 4th quarter meltdown?
Deja Vu all over again.
jrclone - February 7, 2012

beyonce?? lol bad joke..
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
It's a bad sign that Harris looked WAAAY better the last time we were here
Because it was his first game in a Jazz uniform
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I'm starting to think part of the problem is Harris doesn't want to be here
He played with trade rumours for years at NJ, and while at the Jazz there’s always been talk about getting our ‘PG of the Future.’
He must not have a very resilient personality. Happy to coast along until he’s in a better situation.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Harris is the classic
fun to play on a videogame, not good if your team actually has him as starter
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
dude he was awesome in 2k11
I actually traded him to my Jazz. Now-a-days I roll with Rondo.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Yeah I think the first play of the game was
a sweet drive to the basket by Harris. At that moment I thought he could be a big part of our future, man has he proved me wrong.
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Thought the same thing
I had flashbacks of Harris wreaking havoc on us and thought big. No dice. He looked better last year than this year. By far, actually.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Go Jazz AND Ducks btw
What a Rose Bowl this year.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Yeah all the teams I go for are are having historic
runs (Packers, Ducks, SF Giants) Except for the Jazz
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
see how pacers have a 6-8 SG?
we could have a 6-9 SG with good ball handling abilities/distribution skills
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Harris is playing some pretty good D in the 3Q
BC7 - February 7, 2012
I find he plays with his hands on the perimeter, not his feet
G Note - February 7, 2012
nice dunk hayward!
nice juke!!
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Hayward benched
Lead’s gonna blow out again
G Note - February 7, 2012
Lead ballooned when he was on the floor, too
allen aoki - February 7, 2012
True
But my prediction is still coming true. Hayward did it all in the 3Q
G Note - February 7, 2012
Lead ballooned works for the Jazz on the road no matter how you pronounce it
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
uhh that was ugly millsap...
that charge
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
What the hell is with Millsap
He’s been atrocious offensively for the last few

Not with the team
BC7 - February 7, 2012

G Note - February 7, 2012
How about some Jeremy?
What did he do to end up in the doghouse?
moni - February 7, 2012
Favors and Kanter happened to him
allen aoki - February 7, 2012

Bebop - February 7, 2012
I wish he'd play well enough to warrant a trade to a contender
Then we could rid the rotation of the one cog that throws it all off.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Ty has turned into Sloan
Refuses to move off of his rotation now. Goodbye, awesome team philosophy of playing who is hot/working. :(
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I don't understand why he doesn't mix and match more.
moni - February 7, 2012
Only down 7
Could be worse.
Hayward 11-3-3 but looks a lot better
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012

BC7 - February 7, 2012

For a guy that hadn’t played in years
G Note - February 7, 2012
I had a feeling he'd either be completely ready for this kind of role
Or be a complete project. So glad he’s looked this good
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
that was a very tight 3 second call on kanter...
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012

Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Trying to contain optimism.
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
ugly possesion
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Hornacek just got up and walked off the bench in protest LOL
BC7 - February 7, 2012
upcoming BTS report
Hornacek had to be talked out of resigning
moni - February 7, 2012
Blazers assistants would never act so unprofessional.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
#journalism
G Note - February 7, 2012
These Pacers announcers bitch about traveling non stop
Bebop - February 7, 2012
take howard out
he’s trying to force things right now and it aint workin
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
and now an offensive foul on him...
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Holy crap lead
If nothing else, getting a 4th Q lead after being down 21 is an accomplishment
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
For all the hate on Howard
I sometimes feel that at times hes the only wing willing to take a big shot
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
What I mean by that is Hayward and bell seem to lack confidence at times
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Don't want to point out the obvious but...
we have the lead and Kanter/Favors are on the floor.
Surely that’s not a coincidence.
G Note - February 7, 2012
Doe...
G Note - February 7, 2012
Who's glad they didn't turn this one off???
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
I certainly am, lol
Bebop - February 7, 2012
Start of the 2nd and Start of the 4th
My fav times to watch because you can usually expect the Big Turkey to be on the court.
G Note - February 7, 2012
uhh did granger just get a no call?
thought that should’ve been a charge
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Same
I’m okay with a no call on that though
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
it's either a charge or a blocking foul
or, in Indiana, a no call
G Note - February 7, 2012
Alright folks, I wanna Johnny Drama. Let's gooooo...
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
hahaha i always look for him when we win
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Atta boy, Doe!
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
I don't know what has happened w/ CJ at halftime lately...
but he has been so much better in the 2nd half lately.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
#showerpower
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
+1
dunkface - February 7, 2012
nice
BC7 - February 7, 2012
*Waits for someone to make Ron Artest drinking joke *
BC7 - February 7, 2012
granger is going to have a huge 4th qtr
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Ugh. I watched the first half, and gave up
I’m at the library doing stinking calculus now.
So now we’re playing good?? 0_o
dunkface - February 7, 2012
STAY AWAY
/jinxalert
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Love you too
:)
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Haha...
Tbh, I debated turning on the TV/net, but they took the lead as I did, so I stayed on. I’m a little superstitious that way. Still love my Jazz clan.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
I actually deliberately walked across campus to the library
so I couldn’t get distracted by the game. Of course, I stayed on SLC Dunk.
I’m such a good student.
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Dedication, effort, heart.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
In the lead
A+ for Calc though
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
Hahahahah
Maybe an A+ for you.
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Sap got a call... only took two hands all over him.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
that was a quick little crossover he did too
for a pf, that looked pretty damn good
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
looked like he finally had energy
Just got here, so not sure if it’s been like that all game, but still.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
this sounds stupid but Root Sports got rid of the score
while I went to the kitchen, Whats the Score?
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
95 92
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
95-92 jazz
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Jazz +3
BC7 - February 7, 2012
+0
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
man, don't take cj out, put him at sg and hayward at sf
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Hibbert is killing Al tonight
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I miss Kanter :(
G Note - February 7, 2012
I miss him whenever he's not on the floor.
moni - February 7, 2012
Yes put Kantor back in.
RRR - February 7, 2012
it will never happen
but I’d do it, if I were coach
G Note - February 7, 2012
Thanks I will keep track in my head now
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Root Sports Puts the score back right when the George makes that three
Damn Paul George and Damn Root Sports
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Why does Ty change the lineups that are working?!?!
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
Oh, that's not Ty
It’s Jerry Sloan, can’t you tell?
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
ugh our starters are getting killed
our bench was doing better against collison and hibbert
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
I'm not gonna be satisfied with a comeback...
I wanna win. Badly.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
This, ladies and gentlemen
Is a prime example of why you can’t rely on Al Jefferson in must-score, end of the game situations. He can’t be that focal of a point in your offense.
I just don’t understand why you can’t just run your set, all the same. Not to go all Sloan on you, but it’s not as if once there are 4 minutes left instead of 5, some unwritten rule requires you to go iso to your best guy.
Whatever. Rant end. Ha.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I disagree.
I just think it’s stupid to sub out guys who are playing well, regardless of bench or starter status.
As Al misses. Never mind, you’re right.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Haha. It's just an opinion
But after that travel, that’s now 4 straight failed Al possessions. I think we could find a better shot than iso-ing Al against 7-2 Roy Hibbert. There are better shots on the floor.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
I think Al does good things, but hell, he's frustrating.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Right on que. 2 times in a row, missed chances by Al
Jeromice - February 7, 2012
I do not agree with this lineup at this point in time.
moni - February 7, 2012
RRR - February 7, 2012
Al is embarrassing in the clutch.
And why is Howard our one bench player in?!?!?!?!?! hating ty right now.
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
Seriously
What has he done to warrant being on the floor right now? Hell I’ll take Raja
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Gotta score here
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Granger went to Grace King High School (New Orleans)
Go Irish!
MTN - February 7, 2012
This is embarrasing
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Oh I th0ught we will win
utahjazz-philippines - February 7, 2012 via mobile
what is this isolate millsap play?
Bryan Chang - February 7, 2012
Refs stealing the game...
BJInIndiana - February 7, 2012
No movement on offense
Because the other guys know Al is just going to Iso it.
This is not good basketball. I miss our bench
G Note - February 7, 2012
We used to be a winning team...
Then we took a Ty Corbin to the knee.
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Yeah?
Well I used to rec funny comments
trollface
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Sorry for the extremely overused meme
Couldn’t resist.
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Get a stop!!
BC7 - February 7, 2012
These are the games I foresaw cringing at
I foresaw correctly
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Poll
Is Ty telling the guys to go to Al or is Al being a black hole?
moni - February 7, 2012
D: All of the above
dunkface - February 7, 2012
Al is a black hole... but everyone should know that.
It’s not like we’re running the triangle thru him. I’d imagine if it’s going there, that’s the plan.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Ty's telling them to
he seems to have some infatuation with big al
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
I don't think you can get too down on al
considering he has as many assists as our starting pg
Bebop - February 7, 2012
Our starting point guard
lolololololol
dunkface - February 7, 2012
This totally puts everything in perspective.
moni - February 7, 2012
I think the Former
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
Try and remain positive
They did not roll over, and Indiana is at full strength and already much better than NYK. We bounced back, even with a loss.
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Also the young guys played well, Biggest positive for me
Jazz and Ducks - February 7, 2012
There had better a Millsap three when we have possession
Bebop - February 7, 2012
RRR - February 7, 2012
Just throw it to Paul wherever he is.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
Unless his last name is George.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
hopefully paul is not the one inbounding like last time
moni - February 7, 2012
f**k
moni - February 7, 2012
Or we can throw it to Earl who can... well, nuttin.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Jesus
that last play was sad
dwillforlife - February 7, 2012
wtf was that
Bebop - February 7, 2012
Did Earl just try and run a play?
BC7 - February 7, 2012
RRR - February 7, 2012
wow, anti climax
G Note - February 7, 2012
That was the opposite of fun to watch.
BC7 - February 7, 2012
........that last play was depressing
Jeromice - February 7, 2012
Why was CJ or Sap not shooting a 3?
I am totally and utterly confused
Bebop - February 7, 2012
#Jazzcoachlogic
dunkface - February 7, 2012
No games 'til Friday?
Boooo… except at least we can’t lose ‘til then. See y’all at ESA.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
hopefully this gives Ty time to realise his rotations suck
G Note - February 7, 2012
That last group sure did
RRR - February 7, 2012
I don't mind rotations, but just PLAY WHO IS PLAYING WELL.
And it can be a 2 minute by 2 minute type of rotation, imo.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Sloan was automatic with rotations no matter what
I think Ty is going to be the same way.
MTN - February 7, 2012
I know. Hated it. Hope it'll evolve.
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
too bad we can't figure out how to GT at the ESA w/o missing the game
BC7 - February 7, 2012
If the Wi-Fi didn't suck so bad there, we could do it.
You’re going to the game, right?
rxmike12 - February 7, 2012
Al went 6-17
Hibbert was a terrible matchup for him, I don’t know why he should warrant 8 more shots than anyone else when he has a bad matchup, but whatevs.
They fought, the young guys looked great, and as always
#FreeAlecBurks
3 in the Key - February 7, 2012
Looking forward to the analysis of this one in the recap
See you all next game
G Note - February 7, 2012
Sorry I missed the first half
Was not feeling well.
Till next time
